The Visiola Foundation Appoints Jacqueline

The Visiola Foundation has appointed Jacqueline Malenga as Chief Operating Officer (COO) to boost the African non-profit’s mission of increasing access to life-transforming science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and experiential learning opportunities for girls and young women from underserved communities across the African continent.
An entrepreneur, senior executive, science graduate and CISCO certified network engineer, Jacqueline will leverage her experience to develop and lead the overall implementation of the Foundation’s programs and activities, budget implementation, fundraising for long-term sustainability, as well as serve as an ambassador for the organization.
Commenting on the appointment, Ladé Araba, Co-Founder and President of the Visiola Foundation stated,

Jacqueline is uniquely suited to serve in this critical role as an African woman in STEM who has faced and overcome many of the challenges confronting our students. Since 2014, the Visiola Foundation has directly impacted over 16,000 African girls and young women from Botswana, eSwatini, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe through its hybrid programs.
These STEM programs include after-school STEM clubs which it runs in poorly resourced junior and senior government secondary schools; hybrid coding bootcamps for young women aged 17 – 25; and residential STEM camps for teenage girls.
The Visiola Foundation’s vision is that this work will drive a thriving African continent by enabling equitable access to educational and employment opportunities, ultimately leading to long-term sustainable development.
