Our 2020 STEM Summer Camp for Teenage Girls will take place on August 15th – 22nd, 2020. The theme for this year’s residential camp is, “Hackatronics – Lead a Smart Future .” We have designed the program to expose students to the electronics, while helping them harness this potential for economic growth and development. They will be taught the science behind electronics and Internet of Things and will be given the opportunity to build demo projects that will solve basic electronic needs in Nigeria.
The camp will comprise engaging classroom coursework, practical team activities, fun games, and a group project. Students will learn basic concepts in the science and engineering behind electronics. They will additionally put that knowledge into practice by building electronic projects where they will be encouraged to develop their own projects, which could be a automatic light switch and water level detector. At the end of the camp, the students will no longer view science and math as boring, but will instead realize that the concepts are interesting, exciting, and are relevant to their daily lives. In addition, the girls will be coached to become better public speakers and to give engaging presentations.
