After-School STEM Clubs Competition
After-School STEM Club for Girls

The end-of-year After-School STEM Clubs for Girls (ASCG) Competition will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017.

The ASCG is running effectively in 14 Government Secondary Schools across the FCT and is working with about 400 female students. Through our curriculum, we have taught the students computer programming, including web design (using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and visual programming with Scratch. We have additionally introduced the students to Robotics and Science concepts (electricity) and have enabled them to build robots and diverse electronics. These activities are helping to strengthen the theories they are learning in their mathematics, physics, and chemistry classes. They are further learning how to think analytically, solve problems, and work in teams.

To close out the academic year, we will hold an inter-school competition to enable the members of our ASCG to showcase their newly acquired skills in computer programming and Robotics.
